Cyber bullying is an issue that has come into place in our technological age. Everyday much information is posted on the world wide web. This information can be used by people who enjoy bullying others, but now they can do it online, behind their computer screen. Cyber bullying is the act of harassing another person or people through the internet, phone, or any way which is not face-to-face. An example of this is a person making fun of another through a social media site. Many of these bullies do this for their own fun and pleasure. These bullies are usually unaware of the negative effects they have on others. In example, Rebecca Ann Sedwick, was a young teenage who was being harassed through social media. In this case she was harassed through Kik. Through all of the torment she received, she decided to end her life by jumping off of a tall platform. Situations like this one could have easily been avoided by letting people know it is OK to tell other of their problems.

Legal and Ethical Issues : Creative Commons
Legal and Ethical Issues : Creative Commons
Creative commons is an initiative for free information which gives people a right to share, use, or build upon information which is authorized by the producer. Long before the internet was created, copyright laws were created to secure people's creations so others could not profit off the same invention. In our current technologically advanced age, and ever expanding internet, we have much more uses for other people's work other than selling it. We should be able to allow producers to freely share their work with others to expand knowledge and interest in any given subject, under the condition the shared information is not used for profit. I do not think information (journal articles, TV, movies, music, etc.) should be automatically free, but we should at least update current outdated laws which give a producer a choice. This choice should allow people to modify their individual copyright terms which best suit their needs. We shouldn't expect all music, movies, TV shows, books, etc. to be free; people have spent countless hours and much money on producing these works, but if they wish to share they should be able to and still have ownership of their product. Information which was produced through government funding or any connection to the money supplied by the people of any given country, should be freely available to the public. In February of 2013, a plan was released which would require research that is funded by at least $100 million in Research and Development expenditures, must release their results freely within a year.[1] I believe this is a great idea, but we should not have a minimum on the amount received.

World Wide Web
The future of the world wide web needs to be fast, secure, and reliable. A lot of business occurs over the internet and a lot of sensitive information is distributed during an business interaction. A fast and reliable way to store information is used through the cloud. The cloud is a way of storing information outside of the physical constraints of a server or hard drive and connecting to it primarily through the internet. We are able to have a centralized system of high end computers which share resources to a larger number of end-users.

My First Blog Post
How do you feel a course can effectively integrate blogs, Twitter, and/or other Web 2.0 technologies?
In our current fast paced society where everything must be done in an instant; technology is a highly vital part of our every day lives. With the majority of people using technology throughout the day, including social media, work, school, or recreation, why not merge these tools together. Social media can be used effectively in a classroom due to it being the most up to date outlets to the rest of the world, additional social interaction between the teacher and student outside of the classroom, as well as a great tool for the classroom. News is posted on Twitter or Facebook faster than any journalist can write up a story. It also contains a lot more information compared to a new outlet. As mentioned by TeachThoughT, the social interaction between a teacher and student is a very important part of learning. Social media allows for easy interaction outside of the classroom through online discussions.
